Aims:
This course provides you with an overview and understanding of Virtual Private Networks.

Objectives:
The objectives of this course are to:

• Introduce the vocabulary, terminology, and principles of Virtual Private Networks (VPNs).
• Explain the differences between Data and Voice VPNs.
• Explain the protocols and technologies associated with Voice and Data VPNs.
• Explain the many issues of security associated with VPNs.
• Discuss VPN management and performance issues.
• Look at the future development of VPNs.

Who should attend:
The course is open to anybody requiring an introduction to the subject. 

Prerequisites:
None specifically, however some understanding of LAN / WAN technologies and the Internet would be useful.

Follow-on courses:
Any more advanced network course would be recommended.
