Objectives:

• Introduce the vocabulary, terminology, and principles of data communications and networking.
• Provide a sound understanding of the techniques and technology associated with Wide Area and Local Area Networks.
• Provide a basic understanding of switching and routing.
• Understand how an Internet is constructed including an extensive overview of TCP/ technologies.
• Develop the background knowledge to cope with more advanced communications subjects.
• Understand future network technologies.

Who should attend:
The course is open to anybody requiring a good introduction to the subject.

Prerequisites:
None specifically, however some experience of general IT terminology would be beneficial.

Any more advanced network course would be recommended.
